I made this rocking horse for my newborn Granddaughter. It may be a while before she can ride it but, you can never start to early on spoiling them.

The horse is made from some walnut that I’ve had set aside, waiting on that special gift. (I figured it was time) The saddle and rockers are made from oak. The finish is BLO and beeswax…..

Congrats on the granddaughter , This is a wonderful rocking horse. A very fine job in deed.

Grand kids are great and so is your project. I made mine a tool box when he was 3 months old. He got it on his first birthday.
The pony is one good looker. What is the mane made out of?
A very nice gift. Did you sign it or mark it?

@Dave – The mane and tail are made out of a braided craft cord then frayed out…..

@Roger – I think I’ll wait another year before I run her in the Derby…..

@Rob – I had plans, looked at them, tossed them aside, looked at the picture and built the horse…..
