This is a coffee cart I build for a lady who was starting a coffee business in the community college I went to. I was working in library and she needed help searching prices on the internet for a coffee cart, all the one that were offered were very expensive, and didn’t fit her needs, so I gave her same names of some cabinetmakers I knew, but they were all to busy or didn’t want to mess with it, but a couple asked why she didn’t get me to do it. at the time all my tools were in storage, and I had no plans on doing woodworking again. I just got though two operations on my back and was convinced in my mind my career as a woodworker was behind me. but she talked me into it so I build this cabinet and a smaller one for her. and my never did go back in storage.

That’s some coffee cart. It sounds like both you and the lady benifited from it. I am happy to hear you are doing wood working again. Thanks for posting.

Joey,
This is a nice build. I am sure that you saved her some money on the cabinet and you got back into woodworking. Seems like a winning situation for everyone.
Thanks for the story.

Joey that is a great looking cart. I’m really happy that you got back into woodworking. Funny how things happen in life – been a shame to loose you talents.

Thats was in 2001 when BVR was sending back to school for computer networking because of an accident that hurt my back, I had two surgeries and they they told me I couldn’t do carpentry or woodworking any more. that I shouldn’t lift over 15lbs or be on my feet for more than 30 minutes at a time, well, they also told me they would be 50,000 computer jobs in my area, they were wrong on all accounts…lol
I got a better doctor, I do yoga, walk, trained with weights, and still trying to loose the weight that six moths of being stuck in a bed as put on me. All in all I think I am doing ok I feel strong and healthy, I don’t thing I could work full time for a company now thats why I’m working so hard to start my own company again, and do it right this time. I have bad days with my back, not as many as I use too, but going back to doing woodworking is what pulled me out of the depression I believe and it is still my passion. I can’t imagine doing anything else. thanks for all the kind words it really means a lot coming from people who’s talent and opinion I hold in high regard.

Well done Joey,
Looks great and you have your passion back. It is hard to get out of bed for work, but easy to get out for your passion.

Joey, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I know it must have been hard physcally to do the project but I can’t help but think that you are now better off. My Dad use to tell me to never lose hope, You’ve done done a good deed and the benifits will pay off in the long run. You did a great job on the project. God Bless. Eddie.
