OK, this was a journey. First I had to build the house. Then I built a shop inside the house. Finally I built the bench inside the shop. Wow, should have shopped at IKEA!
The bench is made with frame and panel construction in cherry. The finish is 2 coats of Danish oil w/ 2 coats of wipe on polyurethane, then finished off by being buffed smooth with carnuba wax. It is not a complicated design, but has really helped my woodworking and applied finish skills. This is my second piece of true furniture. The first was, of course, a bookcase.
Even though carpentry/contracting has given many opportunities for interesting finish work, built in’s and so on, it is not the same as this new journey of woodworking in the controlled environment of a real shop. I am enjoying every minute of it.

The bench plans are from
http://www.woodstore.net/sihabe.html
It is called “Sit a Spell” Hall Bench. I think I will be able to send you a direct message after this post. That should fulfill the 5 post minimum before being allowed to send a personal message.
The dimensions are 50” wide, 35” high, 16” deep. The actual seating area is about 42 1/2” wide. Enough for 2 people to put their winter boots/muddy boots on at the same time

I really like this bench. I looked at the plans and I think yours looks prettier in cherry than the oak original. Nice work!

I worked my way back from your last project for your daughter to this first step from carpentry to furniture. Looking good!
