This carving is done in live oak. I like the oak but this particular piece had way to many worm holes creating many problems. Naiche was a Apache indian Chief. Youngest son of Cochise. (Naiche means “mischief maker”.) Geronimo was his teacher. Have fun creating Lumberjocks!

A great carving. You have such great talent to create such life like carvings like this one and such abstract work as well like your davey jones, which is also one of my favorites of your work.

Superb Michael, I love your carvings.
And now I have even greater respect for you and the other carvers here as I just did my first. Just a quick caricature but enough to tell me I have a very long way to go.
Keep up the inspiring work and keep showing it to us.
