Turned Acorn Box

This is my first attempt at turning an acorn shaped box on the lathe. The wood is beech with a paste wax and mineral oil finish. It is about 3 1/2 inches tall and about 2 1/4 inches wide. I’m still learning which chisel to use for the different cuts but it’s lots of fun. Thanks for checking it out.

-- You will never build it unless you try. The second one always turns out better.

It certainly looks like you are getting the hang of using the chisels !

Lovely job, but it took me a moment to realise that the lid was not another egg-shaped turning LOL

It’s a good effort, but the proportion of the top to the bottom seems a little bit off. A smaller bottom would be better balanced. Both shapes are great. You’ve got a great eye for shape. I love the stem.
