Hey all, It’s been a LONG time since I’ve posted anything….(been a busy year) but I always find time for the shop. This is my lastest project built for my mother. I hate staining Cherry but it’s what she wanted. I was plesantly surprised by how nice the stain looks…..now on to my next project….an entertainment center

Nice build, I know what you mean about the stain. Your Mom will not only get alot of great use out of it, but will cherish your work every time she pens a letter or pays a bill.

Beautifull!! You managed to make something that traditionally look heavy and bulky light and airy. Great design!
Now I have learned never to assume things. A trait I wish I had as a young man. Anyway, is the shelf on the right for a PC tower?

Thanks for the nice comments…it’s always good to hear unbiased opinions….The shelf on the right is for a pc…there is also a hole in the upper back to route PC cables…keeping them hidden from sight

Great idea to put the computer space there. Well done on the design and finish. The nice thing about cherry is that it just gets better looking with time.

This is a beautiful desk and I’m sure that she was very pleased with it. Congratulations.
