I didn’t like the powermatic jointer base made of steel. I thought a wood base would be better. I was inspired by Don Ks base but modified mine a little using angle iron instead of plywood.

I think his plywood idea would of been as good or easier but I needed to keep my overall height down to fit under my worktable/pre-area as seen in the photos. Due to my change once finished there was a little bit of flexing in the base so I took a photo of the countersunk side holes I drilled into the side and that was able to pull everything tight and let the glue set and take all the play out. Now no twisting.

Casters are 3 inch double locking casters that (SES EBAY casters) Very little amount of play, they work fine and give me a stable base to joint on and wheel around when unlocked. Enjoy.
