I picked up a couple of Amalgam-Mutt pen blanks at SWAT last summer and finally got around to turning them. I used my EWT Easy Rougher to turn the blanks. The carbide cutters make short work of turning pens. Anyway, despite the lousy pictures these pens turned out just beautiful. I don’t have the names of the two blanks but it really doesn’t matter as no two are the same. The red one is some type of burl, the blue, I have no idea. Finished with CA and Renaissance wax. I used cigar pen kits so I’d have more of the blank showing.

Great pens. What do you think of the Easy Rougher? Worth the investment?

Yes, I like the easy rougher quite a bit. Worked great on these pens and every time I’ve used it so far.
