This spoon design was brought about by an absolutely beautiful sofa carved by Vahid’s sofa build. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/38205
I modified the design a bit to allow for the spoon to flow. I hope Vahid doesnt mind me using his design to produce this spoon.
Its carved from aeromatic red cedar. Smells so good while its being carved, although it is very lite and unpredictable at times to carve. This spoon is not for use with food.
Its about four inches wide by eleven inches long. Finished in poly.
Thanks for viewing,
Jim

Very nicely done Jim! Who would have thought that the inspiration for a spoon would/could come from a ‘sofa’. Really great adaptation and workmanship.

Thank you all for the kind comments. This spoon was not one of the more challenging designs I have done, but fun nevertheless to carve.

Great looking spoon, not everything has to be utilitarian, sometimes you need to be able to set back and
just enjoy the beauty of wood and help to show off what is hidden inside.

Exquisite ~ you have quite a talent!
