romansfivefive – no, this was done on the JET Mini but is shouldn’t be an issue to do on any decent lathe (big or small)
and rikkor – no special tools, however the smaller you go and the more details you want to put in (note that this isn’t particularlry small or detailed) you’ll need smaller tools to get into those places – but smaller tools are actually much easier and cheaper to get by
