Made this for my wife last spring. At the time I didn’t have a joiner/planer and it’s hard to buy straight dimensioned lumber here. I ended up buying panels of Paulownia, and then cutting it up and rejoining into the stock for the legs. Used my router table ans both jointer and planer which was a bit challenging. I this wood because it had a nice grain pattern and it was cheap and straight. Turned out to be a mistake as it is way too soft and light for this type of furniture. Had to laminate the top because the wood would dent too easily.
Ended up looking ok and have since added box joined ‘drawers’ that slide in to the spaces you can see in the pics.

Thanks, my wife gave me orders as to how the top should look and I came up with the rest. Just wish I could have built it from oak at the time.
It’s basically her office, so she does get a lot of use out of it.

LOL! You scored a lot of points! It is a balanced, clean design.
