Koa main body, with a Cocobolo ring. Each segment of the Cocobolo ring is separated by maple veneer to create an outline. The bowl is 6” diameter. I only had a small piece of Koa, and originally planned to turn out a solid bowl, but couldn’t stand the thought of turning that much Koa into shavings. With segmented construction I was able to make a bigger bowl with very little waste, and have some fun with the maple “inlays”.
