My wife had bought a nice set of cuttlery and asked me to build a home for it. I had some Bubinga and Ash off-cuts in my shop and planed them down to about 12mm for the job. I think the Ash on Bubinga makes for a nice color contrast. Even though this was a small project, it gave me lots of joining and inlay practice.
