Ebonized Maple Desk

Here’s a desk that I made for my oldest daughter a couple years back. the desk is an original design nothing to fancy other than it was my first attempt at ebonizing maple. I think it turned out OK color was fairly consistent throughout the piece. I used ebony dye as a base and Minwax ebony stain to deepen the color. I also used Birdseye maple for the drawers and decently book-matched ambrosia maple for the doors.

Love it, it really stands out. I like the color combination, just a fine job.

Great job! I cannot believe how dark it turned out. I’m going for the same look on a project I’m planning. What method did you use to ebonize?
