I’ve been wanting to make a branding iron for a while now but haven’t had the time. Last weekend I made the time. I bought some square stock from HD and started cutting, filing and grinding. The brand is a symbol I came up with years ago to mark my tools. It stands for my initials “KCP”.
The handle is a 1” x 1” x 4 1/4” piece of Teak wood.
I counter bored a 3/8×1/2 hole at the top and continued with a 1/4 hole 1 1/2” deeper. The 1/4 shaft is epoxied in the handle.
I used a regular past wax finish.

Thanks for looking…

I love the idea. Let us know how the glue holds after you heat it a bunch of times. Thanks!
