This is a matching piece to my last project. Same distressed paint look, I think going a little less on the sanding made for a better overall look. Using poplar and paint-grade ply-wood definitely cuts down on material costs, though it may not classify as fine woodworking. Still a very valuable learning experience, and as one of the bigger projects I’ve made, it definitely pushed the limits of my current shop. A special nod to my girlfriend, who helped with the painting and graciously tolerated a plastic covered living room for a couple of days.
