These are a couple pieces of scrap spalted maple that I had laying around. I went out this morning with every intention of making a walnut box but….............these scrap pieces were screaming at me.
The one with the cedar bowtie is just a block of wood that will probably end up being a “paper-weight.” Ha ha ha….like I got people beating the door down for paper-weights!
The other is a bandsaw box. Both of these pieces are pretty small. The solid block is 4’’ x 2 1/2’’ x 1 1/2’’ and the box is 3’’ x 3’’ x 1 1/4’’ Anyway, it gave me something to do today and it gave me some practice in some things that I need practice in.
I finished them both with Danish oil and then a wax.
Thanks for looking.
