I got a call from a former client who asked me to make a few high end dogdishes and this is what I came up with.. I wanted to use Walnut but it’s toxic if the dog were to chew on it and there might be issues… so I used Poplar and made it look like Walnut..I will be doing more of these in various woods such as Maple and perhaps a translucent coloring where the grain is still visible..I might even be doing some with exotic veneers but will see.. here’s a blog I did on them and how I did them..gotta love that big pin router..
This is kind of a” off the beaten path” for what I normally do, but sometimes that’s a good thing
