I had one of these knifes as a young boy and when I saw this kit I had to have it. The project was really the leather handle. It consist of multiple leather pieces the size of half dollars which are slipped over a tang. The decorative lines are inserted in between the leather to create a pattern. I sanded the leather down to a comfortable profile for my hands and sanded the brass parts as well. For the finish I applied three coats of spar varnish sanding between coats. For the final sanding I used 0000 steel wool.

Nice look and a very functional knife. My Case XX is similar and my absolute favorite for all things linked to deer hunting and processing. An excellent choice and execution. Keep up the good work.
