This is a shadow box I just gave to a co-worker getting medically separated from the Corps. My favorite part of making boxes for my felow brothers is the look of gratitude and appreciation on their face and in their eyes when being given their gift and seeing it for the first time. I made this box using Cherry for the first time. I will most likely use Cherry in the future as well due to the grain looking beautiful after finishing. The size of the box was determined on the size of the unit shirt I used for the background which I secured utilizing adhesive spray. I left just enough room on the bottom for a placard I made as well as the unit challenge coins. The screws in case of the glass breaking are concealed with the black felt pads on the bottom of the box.
