This is the final piece I made for my son’s bedroom. Made of red oak, like the other pieces, the angled sides were a challenge but was a fun twist. The finish is polyurethane. The piece stands 47 inches tall and is 32.5 inches wide at the top and 40 inches wide at the bottom. The depth is 23 inches.

That shape was really ambitious. Great job!

Would like to see more of this, drawers? How long did this take? What challenges were in this journey? Handles really compement the contemporary feel.

When your son has friends over, or maybe later in his life..he’s gonna say “my DAD made this!”

Another excellent design and craftsmanship piece.

Thanks for all the complements guys. Doc, the whole project took me a few months because this is a part-time hobby and it took me a while to figure out how to deal with some of the issues, like the drawers. I ended up using straight forward rectangular box shape drawers and cut the front on an angle. I used center mount drawer slides.

Have your say...
