This wood carved Black-Capped Chickadee and Branch are both hand carved from basswood and fully detailed by a wood burner and power carving tools. It is finished with acrylic paints and hand painted.
The main base is out of Oak. The Wave part of the base is carved out of Cherry Wood both are finished in a high gloss poly to show the beautiful wood grain and to create a unique contrast from the bird.
I finish all my birds with custom glass eyes to give them a more realistic look.

This bird is life size.
The overall size of the carving is: 12” tall x 11” wide x 5 1/2” deep
The bird is measured from the beak to the end of tail: 4 1/2”
The widest part of the bird is: 1 ½”
Serial Number – 0112-01

Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed carving it. I am planning on starting another chickadee tomorrow and hopefully have it finished in a few weeks.

It is for sale on my online store
