Finally wash my face

It started with the basin….yeah yeah so I am slow. So what. The basin sat in the half-finished lounge mocking me with a hole at the bottom and people asking me whether it was a fancy flower pot with a drain hole. Jeez. So I built a stand for it, then it needed a shelf for its taps. Lastly one of those bathroom cupbard things with a mirror ( the latter something best not studied beyond a certain age).

Now my wife wants to move into the bathroom.

I really like the combination of wood and metal. The mirrored cabinet is great. Was it already something that opened or did you start from a fan shroud or something?

Hello there David. It was a painted shroud originally which was going to be some form of lamp but my imagination tripped on that one.

What finish do you use for basin? And what wood species?

Glatex 8 as a finish. It is a boat-builders twin-pack varnish. Timber is Afromosia.

Really ‘shippy’, I want to go to sea now.
Nice work, lovely details.
Best thoughts,
