Spinning store display fixture

Client brings me a blurry phone picture of a freestanding three tiered spinning store fixture for displaying polished rock and crystals. Client wants one too. “It’s about this tall and this wide”. “Uh Huh”, I say.

It actually ended up exactly what they wanted, but what a pain in the #$@. Turned into a lot of head scratching, one-time templates and fixtures, and loud profanities (sorry, neighbor) and I was never so glad to finish a project.

I used 1/2” white oak dividers with 3/4” oak veneered plywood/melamine bases, found a 8” x 6” beam at a lumber salvage store for the center, 1,000 lb rated ball bearing lazy susan rings, and satin clear coat. My compound miter saw got a LOT of use.

When we were first discussing cost, and said they might want two, I said the second would be less IF they ordered it at the same time. They declined. But now, the second one will cost 5x as much. I hope they say no.

Awesome job!! I feel for ya…I just got through making a much smaller carousel for my rotary tools(see my blog), but it’s nowhere near the size of yours!! I know how difficult it is to make all those cuts and angles!! You win the big prize!!!
