Here is another cedar job i did in my yard this past summer that i forgot to post :-)
I decided to add a 12 ‘x 16’ cedar deck to the end of my shop . I needed a lot of space to store lumber and once the upstairs was full i needed more space . The shop is 1,600 sq ft .
The hardest part was getting all the lumber up and down the narrow staircase in the shop so i thought it might be much easier with a set of stairs outside . There was already a 4 ft square hole at the end of the shop so i made it bigger and added a 6 ft patio door that someone wanted to get rid of . It was in excellent condition and best of all it was free :-) I also added a little beer fridge built into the exterior wall so when you are sitting on the deck it is right there . It is a nice shadey place to sit in the summer .
The storage area below the deck is also full of new cedar . I also added a running waterfall to the front of the deck .

Awesome job John! I think the combination of the deck and beer fridge will come in handy on those hot days although it may cut into productivity ;-)
By the way is that the Keebler elf house in the foreground of pic 2 ?

John—I think a ‘beer fridge’ should be a legal requirement for any shop. Nice work!

Hi John,
Excellent job, as always.
That builder background sure does come in handy, doesn’t it.

Although the deck is very nice, your shop is what I like. This just adds more to a great thing. Very nice job.
