This project is found in “Classic Fretwork Scroll Saw Patterns”, by Patrick Spielman. I finally found a copy after about a year of searching. This basket will be placed in The Crafter’s Co-Op store in Wylie, TX. This is the consignment store where I seel most of my scrollsaw work. I decided to wait on the stain color untill a customer decided to purchase. Perhaps a good choice OR not.
This is made out of 1/4 inch Baltic Birch Plywood and most likely will be finished a light walnut. I have not gluded to project yet as that will allow staining much better and easier. Several stack cuts in this one – O thank you for stack cutting.
Pictures 4, 5, & 6 were added to show the basket after staining. I applied one coat of Medium Walnut Danish Oil, by dip staining, and then one coat of spray shellac. Overall a nice project but I made a few notes as it seems that the pattern did not quite fit correctly in some areas. O WELL.
Thanks for looking

Haven’t done much scroll saw work.
But when I see a project like this it sure makes me want to give it a try.
Very nice job.
