This tile frame was built from Quartersawn Sycamore with Ebony plugs. The style is somewhere between Greene and Greene and Asian. It measures about 13.5” wide and 12.5” high. The rails are 0.75” thick and the stiles are 0.625” thick. Like most highly figured woods, qs sycamore will tear out so thickness sanding is the best way to dimension the stock. The tile was made by an artist in the Finger Lakes region of New York and is roughly 7.5” x 7.5”. The frame has pinned M&T joints. Finished with three coats of General Finishes satin Arm-R-Seal and clear Briwax.
