This carving is also handcarved from a solid piece of cherry. He is about 9 1/2” long x about 9” high. Has several coats of semi-gloss varnish applied.
THANKS FOR VIEWING MY GALLERY!

not sure what wanting a fair price for what would have to be hours of work has to do with the bible, but I do agree that this isn’t the place to advertise wares.

Dave,
This is another beautiful carving. Having a talent like this is truly a gift.
Thanks for sharing your work.

Wow, I am not sure I like the way the tone is changing around here. I Love your dog, Dave. It showcases great woodworking skill. That, I think, is what LumberJocks is about.

This is adorable. He looks alert, like he spotted a bird. The first photo looks a little “corgi-ish” from the angle I guess. Nice thoughtful dog portrait and excellent carving.

Dave, I really like your craftsmanship and am a fan of your work. I, unfortunately did a blog recently on prices being included on project posts – but I am totally NOT in agreement, nor want any part of, the comments made by Ingemar above. I am sorry that my name was put in the posting. Enjoy viewing your work, please keep it coming. I am not a fan of the piece being offered for sale, but that is just my opinion and I speak for ONLY myself. I will continue to enjoy your postings – regardless of price being mentioned.

Dave, you DO truly have a God given talent, what a masterful job – thanks for sharing it. I do appreciate your contribution and admire your work. In my experience, most negativity is fueled by jealousy or fear – either way, it’s not your problem. Give it all to God and trust him to sort it out. Can’t wait to see your next creation!

This must have been edited by now, because I don’t see what is stirring things up. I have seen several other jocks, one veteran jock in particular, whose comments are 3/4 sales pitch and 1/4 about the project. Considering the primary audience here, I would think that was barking up the wrong tree. So anyway, dlcarver, you certainly wouldn’t be the first to offer his service/products for sale here, and I haven’t noticed any comments shooting down the others.
All that aside, you have some great carvings, and a wonderful talent for it. I am hoping to see some bass and trout from you in the future. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your projects.
