This was a job I did last year for a couple who lived in a two hundred year old barn I tried to talk them into letting me build new cabinets but they didn’t think nothing was wrong with the old ones, they just wanted them refaced with walnut. the doors are a flat panel with walnut veneer and the stile and rails are all solid walnut. The cabinets were them really cheap PB ones with the melamine film on it. so I used 1/4 ply that I ripped down into strips, glued and pin nailed them on and then routed them flush. then I finished everything with tung oil because that is what the customer wanted. to me it was a rough job, but it fit the house and the customers loved it and in the end thats what matters.

I’ve seen a few of these remodels. Always seemed like a pain to me. How was their wooden counter top holding up? Nice job. They must love it.

You did a great job considering what they wanted. From the sound of the story and the looks of the place, I’m guessing they’re a little kooky. <g>

Hi Joey,
You did a good job on this project. This was their house and you gave them what they wanted. If they loved the job they got what they paid for. You can’t ask for anything more.
Nice job with the task you were given.

Kooky would be an understatement at best. the guy had more cans of rusty bent nails that he saved that I had new ones. but they were fun and interesting and didn’t really trust anything that was younger than they were theire words not mine…lol

Nice job – if they paid you they must have been happy with the work and that is all that matters at the end of the day.
