Panel finished!

Here is the panel that I have been working on completed. I used for the finishing briwax in golden oak. I put 3 coats on using a hair dryer. My arms were getting pretty tired by the 3rd coat! I didn’t want to use power as I was worried buffing it that way would chip off on the carving. My husband is in the studio making a easel so I can put it on display at the sawmill. The panel will have a holder for a wall but for now the easel will make a nice display rack. Thanks all for the interest of my panel project. It’s been a great experience for both of us! I have to get a better angle as Darryl was trying to hold the panel so I could get a picture outside. So bare with the angle! Now onto my next project my door!
Thanks again!
Krum

That’s great, I’m proud of you. The stain really brought out the details, & you didn’t get any blotching that Basswood is good for. You must have used a sealer, or maybe Briwax is the way to go.

That is a great panel. I am amazed at how all of your carvers are able to produce such fabulous looking pieces (including you Dick and Debbie).

Krum, looks like using the elbow grease was the way to go. I would have hate to have seen this beautiful work of art ruined by using a buffer.

I’ve looked at your projects before and especially love this. I hope you don’t mind if I add you to my buddies because I did already. Ha, ha. You really do nice work.

Hmm, I had added you long time ago, Janice! LOL Should have told you. Thanks, for the comments and the panel is still for sale. *BG It’s been very slow in sales. So I just play around and make whatever I want.

Have your say...
