Here is my first attempts at pen turning. Cocobolo on the left, zebrawood on the right. the cocobolo was the first, as such it is a bit thicker. the zebrawood is thinner and i turned it cross-grain instead of long. what a pain it was to get smooth! anyway, like i said, my first attempts, and I feel like i learned volumes. not nearly on par with the offerings from some of the masters here, but I am happy with them. thanks for looking.

oh, finish is 3 coats of CA, light sanding, 3 more coats light sanding in between, and 3 coats of johnsons paste wax.

For your first ones – great job! Keep it up….. start selling them to help pay for the craft! I have been selling pens for a year now and doing extreamly well! Fun way to make extra money…..
