lewis and clarke (no relation)

Last year I sent pictures of my bear friend “Lewis”.He lives in my shop and was starting to look a little lonely so I carved him a friend.His name is “Clarke”. The next one is going to be a raven.I think it will be a female.I’ll call her sacajawia.It just seems like a catchy name.I don,t know where these ideas come from. Lewis and Clarke both have heads that swivel.They are both carved from redwood driftwood and Clarkes head and feathers are carved from port orford cedar(white cedar). Clarke is 4ft tall and lewis is a little over 5ft. Lewis got a new coat (of finish) for the occasion.

I like your carvings. I live in Idaho, Sacajawea was born not to far from me. Last summer on a camping trip I drove over Lewis Pass. That is where the expedition just happened to run on to a group of Indians that was led by Sacajawea’s bother. She had not seen in since she was captured over 10 years earlier. Also remember if you do Sacajawea that she was carrying Pompey, her infant son.
