This my first, and only, woodworking project.
i’ve had my eye on the atlas shelves for a while, but those are super expensive, so I made some myself. these are made out of pine, they are more of a prototype than the actual thing. the standards are made out of poplar.
the shelves have a notch on the inside corners, which slip over the standards, and then secured to the standards at the top with a wooden peg. i wanted the standards to be hidden on the inside, so when you look at it from the side, it looks like the shelves are floating.

I would have to say that that looks to be a very well executed first project.
Well done.

Pretty ingenious. Good work on the dovetails. Most people don’t tackle them on their first project.

A unique suspension system, very nice for a first project.
