A pair of tansu style cabinets in solid cherry, finished with solvent lacquer. The sliding door panels are cork floor tiles, stripped of the factory finish, then lacquered in gold pearl. The natural edge soft maple flitch on top floats on loose spacers.

Unique cabinets I really like the design and the cherry wood.

Very clean execution and a nice design. From where did you source the hardware?

@fissionchips – The corners and slider pulls came from whitechapel.com and the drawer pulls are extras from a long-ago project. All are solid brass with a black patina.

Nice cabinets. Really like the cork panel treatment. Any more pics?

Ah, the URL was a bit off but I found them, http://www.whitechapel-ltd.com/category/corner.html

I don’t see any tansu style hardware there, but Lee Valley has some available, and antique tansu pulls can be found on ebay.

Have your say...
