Blackie- you are getting better with each new box. I like the hidden drawer in these- gives a flat area in the drawer and is not obvious at all.

Thanks Donna, if it weren't for you and Tony I'd be a lost sheep. I can't thank you enough for all of that wisdom I gained from you during our visit together, if it hadn't been for LJ, I would have never found you, I consider myself very fortunate as I've already mentioned I gained a great deal of knowlage, that 4 hour visit went by so fast, I wonder why? LOL With all that talk about woodcrafting and then Raymond with his projects I had a great time.

When it warms up a bit if you and Raymond have time we should do a ride.

Well done, nice to learn of Donna's input.

Have you considered the tannin effect of untreated timber, some tannin can damage jewellery, etc?

Good to watch your work & creative skill develop.

Thanks Tony

I wasn't aware of this tannin effect, so sounds like leaving this cedar unfinished for storage such as blankets and cloths is ok but not good for jewelry. What about flocking it?

Flocking - tried it once, only!

I am sure there are any number of LJ box makers who could provide an informed answer!

Hi Art,

Your box and design is real close to my two drawer heart design made from hackberry, I did the hidden drawers and left out the center devider.

Art, I just did another not finished yet from Mahogany with knotty alder in the center, can't wait to see how it's going to turn out but you are right it's going to be hard to beat the cedar.
