This Pie Safe was a first for me in that I cut down the pine tree, delivered to a local saw mill and eventually ended up with a finished project. The decorated tin was also a first, I sketched or printed off a pictures and punched the tin using an awl and hammer. The tin represents places my wife and I have lived or favorite vacation spots from SC. Upper left is a typical shrimp boat from Beaufort SC, middle left is the Kershaw-Corwallis Revolutionary War house, lower left is the Hunting Island Light House (Beaufort, SC), upper right is the outline of SC with Palmetto tree logo, middle right is the Cooper River Bridge from Charleston, SC and finally the lower right is a Polo Player from Aiken, SC. Great project. That is a very personal piece, which, after all, is one of the best aspects about making furniture for yourself.

That’s cool. The Personalization is great. I’ve never seen a Pie safe with a drawer in it, another great addition.
