This is a design I came up with, I optioned out the center devider as the drawers are held in place at the top and bottom, it has two large drawers with two hidden drawers, one in each drawer, I made this box out of spalted hackberry, measurements are 6” H x 7” W x 3” D. I am in the works of making two more with the same design only using Mahogany / knotty alder for one and Aromatic cedar for the other.

This is a beautiful box! The design is very clever and the wood used is nice. Great job.

I like it too. Clever to leave out the center divider- like you say, it is unnecessary. Your finish looks pretty good in these photos- have you changed your technique?

Glad to be of assistance, Blackie. We enjoyed the visit too. Somehow I never tire of talking about band saw boxes. There is always something new to learn.
So tell us, what did you do differently with these newer boxes? Inquiring minds want to know.

Well I didn’t rush it, paid more attention to how I was putting on the lacquer and detail after the first coat I went back over with 400 grit then put the last two coats on.
