This custom silverware box was created out of Cherry for the proud parents as a wedding gift to their daughter and her new husband. It now holds silverware which has been handed down from one generation to another. I milled all the pieces to roughly 1/2 inches. The inside was dadoed in with the bottom being covered in a nice felt. I routed a finger slot in the front of the lid to be able to easily open.

Pretty cool box. What is the material in the bottom?
Are you still designing your new shop?

Very nice. A family heirloom to accompany the family silverware.

Tks fellow Jocks…
Cajunpen – the clients where extrememly pleased with how it all went together..
Gary – The material on bottom is a solid piece of purpleish felt…I thought it went well with the cherry wood..
Yes I am still working on designing the new shop in my spare time..lol…The weather is not cooperating….so all is on paper and in my mind so far…I had been writing in another blog…but looks like I forgot to copy it over to this one….. Thanks for asking…

Hi Splinters
This is a very nice box. You can’t go wrong with cherry. It is my personal favorite. I just hope that, being newlyweds, they have a hutch nice enough to put this in.
What type of finish did you put on it.
