Made this Hand plane today for a class project. I will post the how to make video soon.
Our work shops are being remodeled so I have been working from home.

I made the blade from an old hack saw blade. They are high speed steel and sharpen up great. The base timber is Jarra and the wedge is walnut. It works a treat!

I’m trying to figure out the same thing. A hacksaw blade is like 1cm wide! How exactly did you make a plane blade from a hacksaw blade?

Motorized hacksaws have blades made from hss steel that are 32mm wide with the teeth ground off and about 2mm thick. Most engineers throe them into their scrap.
