These are the first few pens that I made on the new lathe. The darker one is Cocobolo, the white one is deer antler, and the other is Zebrawood. The antler pen HAD a cousin that was a pencil in the making, but an errant corner of the chisel sent the blank flying into pieces. Lessons learned: antler is tough as nails on the outside and brittle as, well brittle, on the inside. Lesson two: always wear eye protection unless you want to outfit your eyeball with a little deer antler inlay.

Beautiful pens, some can fetch a pretty penny if done right. I very much like these.

Antler is fun but so precarious to work with. Great looking pens !
