This bowl was turned as my first solo turning after graduating from pens. Turned in 2009, the surface was rough and the bowl was a little warped. Threw it back on the lathe and sanded off the original finish which was mostly beeswax. Wish I could have rounded it out again, but I didn’t want to brake it as the sides were a little thin and there is already some inclusions.

Refinish Steps:
1. EEE
2. PSI Gloss Sealer
3. EEE
4. Shelawax
5. Finished with Micro Crystalline Wax

That’s a nice bowl! I wish I had a wood lathe. I think it would be so much fun learning to turn. Maybe someday!

It is a ton of fun and to me it seems much simpler then any of that right angle stuff. Well I guess with my next cutting board project and then a possible humidor after that we will see how difficult it really is!
