The other day my neighbor told me of his dilemma about the unavailability of some 10ft paneling. To make a long story short I said I could make the paint grade panels from 1/4 inch mdf in 4×10 format. He told me the grove pattern which incidentally didn’t match the paneling I have in my family room that was built 50 years ago. I made a special table from 2×4’s and 1/2 inch baltic birch plywood that was a flat a I could make it. Made a 10 ft straight edge and went to town routing each grove with a v-bit.

You are a good neighbor. Looks like your setup will work just fine.

Are those sandbags holding the center of the straight edge down? Never thought of that but it’s a great idea!

You are a good neighbor!!

for Jim Crockett: Glad you noticed the bags. They are actually 12 pounds of no.9 bird shot. The bird shot comes in 25 pound bags a little heavy. So I split it up. I use them alot for holding stuff down temporarily. I found them out when a friend of mine worked in a gun shop. Originally I made a counter ballance system for my drill presses at the school where I taught. The girls were having a hard time raising the drill press tables so I added a pully counter balance system. Worked great untill the curriculum changed my woodshop to a technologh lab.

Bob I wish I had a neighbor like you! I will have to remember this one. I live in a house with 10’ ceilings and I had doing the ole trim at the 8’ line. Pretty nifty. Ever consider moving to Southern Indiana?
