I appreciate everyone welcoming me to LJs. I have followed the site for some time but just recently joined now that I have a little more time to spend in my workshop. I am a fairly new woodworker and most of my time so far has been spent making a bunch of jigs for my shop, I really have not had time to actually “make” anything. I did knock out a cutting board for the woman I promised to love, honor and cherish. It is an end-grain board of walnut and cherry. I was inspired by The Wood Whisperer in fact this is a copy of the end-grain board he presented on his site.

I am in the middle of building a new workbench, my first one is soooooo inadequate. I have been picking up tips from LJs for my bench. Hopefully I can have it finished soon.

It’s 11-1/2×19 x 1-1/8 with a mineral oil finish.

Nice. I just started my first board last night and later want to replicate this board also.
