Made this today just messing around in the shop. Handle is walnut and the mallet is, I think, mountain locust. Picked it up last week on a hilltop in WV. Mallet wood is very dense and makes a nice sound when striking. The handle length is overkill and I may cut it off some but it really feels, fits, and hits well.

Very solid and a tool I needed. It ain’t the prettiest but I made it and it works and that’s that! LOL

If it looks good, works good and hits good – it is good.
