I love to do woodworking, unfortunately I have only a 2 car garage that I have taken over and spent a few thousand dollars on some tools. So for Christmas, I decided that I’d build my mother-in-law a new entertainment center to replace the old particle board one she had. I looked around and found this plan which I thought would be perfect for her. I originally planned to make it out of oak, but I talked myself into Cherry. I had 3 weeks to complete this and secretly place it in my mother-in-law’s living room before she returned from New York with my wife from a 5 day vacation. Well I ran this project right up to the night they were scheduled to fly in and had to haul it about 15 miles in the pouring rain in order to make it on time. I was able to get it completed, finished and installed about 2 hours before she walked in the door. It was a great project and my first one of any substance. It really turned out beautiful with a simple clear poly finish. She’s had it for about a 3 weeks now and its already beginning to darken.
