There are, as at January 9th 2012, 774 projects labelled with ‘cutting board’ on Lumberjocks. I thought I ought to see what the attraction is, so 2012 saw me in the ‘shop knocking some out. For me, the joy of seeing the pattern come to life when I slapped on the mineral oil (Liquid Paraffin in the UK) was worth the time spent in making the boards.

They were nearly all accurately dimensioned to 3/4” thickness and were all between 8” and 24” long. So, a good start to this little project.

These cutting boards are pretty standard, but a delight to see and will impress eventual recipients as gifts. My thicknessing sander really came in useful for these…

Wow! I like these boards. The grain and pattern with the contrast really make these cutting boards standout.

Nice lookin boards! Cutting boards are on my do list also. I expecially like the board in the 3rd pic (assuming
you count like I do: left, right, left right, left ). Really nice pattern. Well done.
