I made this table for the Lee Valley router support insert and accessories. The support system was based on magnetic fixtures to hold the router in position. The only problem was that on heavy operations, the router would move and ruin the job. Now, it’s just another pretty face hanging around the shop, providing a bit of storage.
The cabinet is made of MDF and is on casters. The top is 2 layers of 3/4” MDF epoxied together and covered with Formica. The router was connected to an outlet inside the cabinet and controlled by the outside switch box that also includes two outlets. Finished with latex/acrylic wall paint under water borne poly.

That is the coolest router table I’ve ever seen. I’ve got to give you props for taking the time to beautify it.

Wow, indeed. You could always hack it to enhance their crappy design and avoid the problems you encountered back then…
