This is my first posted project on this website. A jewelry box for my wife. I am trying to get back into woodworking again after not having a garage/workshop for quite a while.

The chess piece was just me messing around on the bandsaw for my niece.

I’m working on a pie safe for my mother-in-law now…I’m addicted

sorry the pics are sideways…like i said…i’m new

With projects like that…....being “new” is the least of your concerns. That is a great box. Good job.

There’s a first time for everyone!
I took copy’s of your picture’s and flipped them on my computer for a better look. I love that idea with the crack top! Very nice and very attractive!

Very neat, I’d like to try one of those cracked pieces. How about writing a blog with lots of pictures of the next one you do? I can’t even picture in my head, how to make something like that.

Thanks for the comments everyone…I have to admit jcwalleye, I learned the technique watching Steve on and just came across the design by doing a google search of bandsaw box images. This one appealed to me most…like disneyworld meets beetlejuice
