This trunk is about 30” long, about 16” deep and 19” tall at the peak of the arch. I’ve made a few of these to donate to fund raisers, this one no exception. The body is maple I veneered by resawing and contact cementing to plywood. The arch top is made with 2×6 pine supports, with 1/8” baltic birch bent over the supports to make the curve. Then I contact cemented more resawn maple over the baltic birch. The trim and straps are cherry. Straps are thin resawn cherry strips glued back together with plastic resin glue in a form to make them curve and match the top. Buttons on the ends are cherry, on the straps, maple. Inside is resawn aromatic cedar, contact cemented to the plywood. Finish is two coats sanding sealer, two coats lacquer, sprayed.

That is one nice trunk. Very nice construction and finish. I like the hobnail effect.

That trunk has a substantial look to it, like you could hold up a car with it or something. great job.
