My dad had me build this for my step-mom for Christmas a couple years ago. Its built with pine barnboard from The Home Depot. The dovetails are hand cut and I believe I made the bottom moulding by hand also. The closer I look, it just looks like its rounded over, so I guess thats not too impressing…errr

Very nice work. I’ve done woodworking for over 20 years and I’ve never done a dovetail joint on a project. I admire those who do, especially hand cut.

It was a couple years ago, so I’m not %100 sure what it was, but the odds are good that it was either wiped on poly or a thinned down and brushed on poly (several coats) on top of a minwax stain, probably puritan pine. thanks for the comments everyone.
